State Level Intercollegiate competition - Biospark






The inter-collegiate cultural fest “Biospark’22” organized by the Department of

Biotechnology and Biochemistry was inaugurated by Dr. Kavitha Subramanian Management

Trustee at the college premises on 10th September 2022. The day began on a very auspicious note

with the invocation of God’s blessing followed by the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu and official

inauguration of the fest by Dr.Kavitha Subramanian. Our honorable Principal Dr. J. Parasuraman

felicitated the event and gave felicitation address. He delivered a valuable speech and wished the

organizers a grand success. Gathering was addressed by Dr. G. Manigandan, Head, Department

of Biotechnology. He wished all the participants for the best performance.

The main purpose of the competition is to exchange ideas and innovative performance of

different colleges. Four onstage events (Quiz (Agatha Quiztie), Creative Advertisement Making

(Ad Mad), Dance (Dancing Danseres), Photography (Click the Flick)) and three offstage events

(Short Film Making(The Rode Reel), Science Model Making (The Model Hut), Flameless

Cooking (Food to see you)) was Conducted. Nearly 220 students from 12 colleges from in and

around Pudukkottai participated. The schedule of the program was planned such that the seven

competitions were organized in parallel sessions in separate rooms.Fest provided a bigger

platform for students to showcase, learn and exchange their cultural and intellectual capabilities.


All the events were judged by the professionals in the respective area. The participants were

rated on a rating scale of 50 marks and based on the average score of the judges the first three

winners were finalized. The winners securing the first, second and third positions in each event

were awarded trophies and certificates. Participation certificates were given to all the others

participants.

The fest ended with a Valedictory Function. Dr. T. Malarvili, Principal Government

Arts and Science College Navalur Kuttapattu, Srirangam, Trichy was the chief guest. She

encouraged the students for their laudable performance and distributed the certificates, prizes and

champions trophy, the first place and overall winners trophy was won by Srimad Andavan Arts

& Science College,Trichy and the Dr. Umayal Ramanathan College for Women, Karaikudi got

the second place runner’s trophy.The official vote of thanks given by Dr.S. Kanitha, Head,

Department of biochemistry.

The response received from various colleges and the feedback of the participants was

positive which is a great boost for our department. Overall, the event was well organized and

successful.
