The inter-collegiate cultural festival "Biospark'25" was splendidly organized by the
Department of Biotechnology and Biochemistry and was inaugurated by Dr. Kavitha
Subramanian, Management Trustee, at the college premises on August 13, 2025 at 10.00 a.m.
The day commenced on a very auspicious note with the invocation of God's blessings, followed
by the Tamil Thai Vaazhthu and the official inauguration of the fest by Dr. Kavitha
Subramanian. Our esteemed Principal, Dr. J. Parasuraman, extended a warm welcome to the
large gathering, wishing all participants the best in their performances.
An impressive turnout of students from 08 different Arts and Science colleges across
Tamil Nadu was observed for this event.
The primary aim of the competition was to facilitate the exchange of ideas and showcase
innovative performances from various colleges. The event was divided into six distinct
competitions, comprising three on-stage events: Guessing Guns (Quiz), Beyond Words
(Mime) and Voice Vibe (Singing), along with three off-stage events: Taste Masters (Flameless
Cookery), Colors of Joy (Rangoli) and Miniature Marvel (Model Making). The event
highlighted participants actively engaging and demonstrating their remarkable skills, captivating
both the judges and the audience. All events were evaluated by professionals in their respective
fields. After each session, feedback from the respective judges was collected, where they
inspired the students with their encouraging words and provided suggestions for further
improvement.
The program schedule was meticulously planned to ensure that all six competitions were
conducted in parallel sessions across separate rooms. The fest offered a larger platform for
students to showcase, learn, and exchange their cultural and intellectual talents. Participants were
assessed on a rating scale of 50 marks, and the first three winners were determined based on the
average scores provided by the judges.
The winners who secured the first, second, and third places in each event received
trophies and certificates. Participation certificates were awarded to all other participants.
The event concluded with a Valedictory Function. Mr. Subramanian, Secretary of the
KarpagaVinayaga Educational Trust, commended the students for their extra-ordinary
performances and distributed the certificates, prizes, and the champions trophy. The overall
trophy was claimed by Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College (Autonomous) in
Tiruchirappalli., while the runner-up trophy was awarded to Thanthai Periyar Government
Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. Sribharathi Arts and Science
College for Women in Pudukkottai secured the third place.
Overall, the event was well-organized and successful. Dr. G. Manigandan, Head of the
Department of Biotechnology, delivered the Vote of Thanks. The event concluded with the
National Anthem.
