The English Literary Association of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous),
Pudukkottai organized an intra-departmental " *Haiku Writing Competition"* on June
18, 2025. The topics were "Flower, Youth, Wisdom, Childhood & Friend." MS. S.
Selvi Head of the Department inaugurated. 27 students from UG and PG English,
showcased their creativity, capturing the essence of the themes in concise yet
powerful Haikus. The event fostered a love for poetry and provided a platform for
students to express themselves artistically. The competition was well-received, with
participants demonstrating a deep understanding of Haiku's traditional structure and
modern interpretations. The event concluded successfully, inspiring a continued
appreciation for literary arts among the students. The first prize was won by S.Maria
Aany Gracy (P24EG1005),second and third by A.Gowsalya (P24EG1002), and
G.Ponnazhagu (U24EG1005). Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The
programme was organised by Assistant Professors K.Muthulakshmi, Dr.R. Ramya
and J.Leo Dabin Singh.
