The English Literary Association of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous),
Pudukkottai, organized a Guest Lecture on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities for English
Literature Students” at 10.30 a.m on Wednesday, 11.02. 2026.
The session began with a welcome address by Ms.S.Selvi, the Head of the Department of
English . The resource person, Dr. B. Anitha Rani, Director, KarpagaVinayaga Institute of
Management, Pudukkottai, delivered an insightful and motivating lecture. She highlighted the
wide range of career and entrepreneurial opportunities available for the students of English
Literature like Content Writing, Script Writing, Start ups, Translators etc in today’s competitive
world. She also emphasized skill development, creativity, communication skills, and self-
confidence as key factors for success.
The lecture was highly informative and interactive. Students actively participated and
clarified their doubts regarding career paths, startups, and professional growth related to English
studies.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Ms. S. Selvi, Head, Department of
English, and coordinated by the organizers Ms. R. Komalavalli, Ms. V. Visalatchi, and Ms. M.
Durga Devi. At the end the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Rajathi of II M.A English.The event
concluded successfully with valuable takeaways for the students. Overall, the guest lecture was
inspiring and beneficial to all the participants.
