The Department of Hotel Management of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous),
Pudukkottai, organized a special lecture program titled “Chef to Manager: A Global
Hospitality Journey” on January 29 at 9.00 a.m. at the college Conference Hall.
The program was organized by the Dukes and Duchess Club of the Department of Hotel
Management with the objective of exposing students to global career opportunities in the
hospitality industry. Mr. T. Rajasekar, Head Chef and In-charge Manager of Glaze Café
Dockyard, Bermuda, served as the resource person for the event.
During his lecture, Mr. Rajasekar shared his inspiring professional journey from a
culinary professional to a managerial position in the international hospitality sector. He
highlighted the importance of skill development, discipline, leadership qualities, and adaptability
for achieving success in the global hotel industry. The session also provided valuable insights
into overseas employment opportunities, workplace culture, and career growth in hospitality
management.
The lecture was highly informative and interactive, motivating students to aim for
excellence in their professional careers. A total of 45 students participated enthusiastically and
actively interacted with the resource person by raising questions and sharing their aspirations.
The program was convened by Dr. S. Karthikeyan, Head, Department of Hotel
Management. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource
person, management, principal, faculty members, and students for making the program a grand
success.
