A Guest Lecture programme on "Database testing " was organised by the Cyber
Tech Association, Department of Computer Science, J.J. College of Arts and Science
(Autonomous), Pudukkottai on 26.06.2023. Mr. G.Manikandan , ETL Tester, Cognizant
Technology Solutions, Coimbatore, was the guest. He is also an alumni of our college. He did M.Sc. Computer Science between 2015 and 2017. He gave his special Lecture on
Database Testing. He started his talk by saying his own experiences on preparation for interviews, speaking in English, facing the interviewer with confidence, recent trends of software
industry and maintaining the efficacy of a candidate in the industry. He came out with answering the queries of the students eagerly raised in
beginning of the session itself. He solved all the doubts of the candidates with concern. He motivated the students to learn about programming languages, scripting languages, Databases and Networking. We went on saying testing database applications is a crucial part of ensuring
data quality and integrity, which are essential for reliable and accurate information
systems. He proceeded by saying database testing involves verifying the functionality, performance, security, and consistency of data stored and manipulated by the
application. He said it is important to determine the test environment, the test data, the test
cases, and the test tools that one will use for the database testing. It is essential to
learn from all our environments he added. The entire session was enjoyed and benefited
by the students. Dr. S. Rathna devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, presided over the programme. A. Vimalraj of III BSc Computer Science gave the
welcome address and A. Sriharan of III BSC Computer Science delivered the Vote of
Thanks. V. Amala of III BSc Computer Science hosted the event. The guest Lecture was
arranged by the utmost cooperation and support of the staff of the department.
