A one day Special Lecture programme was organised by the Cyber Tech Association, Department of Computer Science, J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Pudukkottai on 15.07.2022.
Mr. V.Sethumadhavan, Soft Skill Trainer cum Advocate, Madras High Court, Chennai, gave a Special Lecture on “Employability Skills for Computer Professionals”.
In his talk, he explained about what employers want from employees. 1. Soft Skills, 2. Hard Skills. Soft Skill is an ability to interact and Communicate Positively and productively with others. Hard Skills let us get things done. We need both soft and hard skills and also told that attitudes makes all the differences. To get placed, one must have communication skills with computer skills.
He also stressed on the ethics of strong work and the importance of honesty and integrity. He also specified the importance of punctuality and also he told the students to be flexible and adaptable. He also insisted the students to gather knowledge on problem solving skills. Also specified bout interpersonal skills and team work. He listed out the 8 employability skills that an employer expects from the employee.
