The Sumner’s club of Biochemistry organized a state level workshop on “ Experimental Animal’s mode : care, Maintenance & Handling†on 20/02/2020.
Dr. G. Archunan, UGC – BSR faculty Fellow, Department of Animal science, Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli ected as the resresource person.
The Morning session started at 10.30 am Prof.Archunan explained regarding the important features to be taken care of while handling the laboratory animals. He also briefed about the general precautionary steps to be undertaken while dealing with the laboratory animals. He emphasized the importance of invivo studies in the field of research. He reagent the students to take almost catre of the laboratory animals for better results. The procedure to be followed strictly while handling the laboratory animals were discussed. The students became aware of the mythologies to be adopted for colleting and storing the blood sample and urine sample from both the wale and female albino rats. Each students learnt to handle the nice. They were made to collect and store the blood sample and the urine sample. The identification of were words also taught. Then the various mode of treatment were demonstrated. Finally disech’on and organ harvesting was done by the students. The various organs harvested were stored for further studies. The students became awre of complete animal handling, maintenance and care at the and of the workshop. Prof. G. Archunan distributed the certificates to the participants
