J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), sivapuram, Pudukkottai, PG and Research Department of Microbiology, Micromiracle 2020. The Annual microbiology ‘Intercollegiate fete’ was organized this year on Wednesday 12th February 2020.
108 students from the Colleges, in the University area participated in various competitions. The function was inaugurated by Dr. S. Kavitha Subramaniyan executive trustee, Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, Pudukkottai. In her address she exhorted the students to participate in larger numbers in such events that showcase their practical and applied knowledge of their disciplines.
It is through Conferences, Workshops, Seminars and symposium that the critical mind is developed. It is the key to advances in Knowledge. In this, Competitions like paper presentation, model presentation, Vegetables carving and collage etc.., were conducted. Dr.Umaiyal Ramanathan Arts and Science College, Karaikudi emerged the winner and Government Rajah Serfoji College, Thanjavur got the Runnerup Prize. The other teams too were close contesters.
In the Validiction Dr. M. Kalyana Kumar, M.D., D.M. (Neurology), consultant Neurophysician, Team Specialty Hospital, Pudukkottai distributed the Prizes. In his address he reminded, the students on their responsibility to make use of their youthful energy and enthusiasm in the right channel. College days should prepare them to launch into successful academic and Professional career. This is the time for them to socialize directly with their peers avoiding faceless tools like Facebook, Twitter, Whatspp etc..,
Earlier the principal of the College Dr. J. Parasuraman and Professor S. Palaniappan the Controller of Examinations of the College offered their felicitations. Dr. P.Jeevan Coordinator General and Head, Department of Microbiology gave the welcome address. Finally vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. M.Poornima, Assistant Professor of Microbiology.
