The N.S.S. Units of J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Pudukkottai organized a one day Seminar on “Eradication of Ragging” on Friday, 6th July, 2018.
Mr. A.Manoharan, Inspector of Police, Thirumayam Police Station, in his Special Address, enumerated the rules to remove the ragging. Persons who indulge in ragging will be punished with two years of imprisonment and they have to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000/-. Students charged with the crime of ragging will be suspended or dismissed from college. Such students can never get a job in future. The speaker pointed out that people should not harm the heart of others. He instructed the audience narrating the morals of Panchatantra Stories. He warned the students to be careful about the bad friendship. He inspired the students quoting memorable words of Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam - Birth should not be an event but a history - and Swami Vivekananda.
In her Presidential Address, Dr. Kavitha Subramanian, Trustee, Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, asserted that it is great to find our own fault, it is greater to accept our fault and it is greatest to reduce our fault and above all it is genius to remove all our faults. She enlivened her speech by thought - provoking messages from WhatsApp.
Welcoming the audience, Dr. J.Parasuraman, Principal, appealed to the students to have holistic development in their life and to derive optimum happiness as Bertrand Russell said. Mr. R.Manimaran, Head, Department of Information Technology and N.S.S.Best Programme Officer, proposed the vote of thanks.
